My first interviewee is an international student from India. His name is Gaurav Dubey who is first year Phd student in IST. He talked about the prime minister in India. He knew exactly where India is located. It's in Asia in the east of the India ocean. He said he did follow the india newspaper for a while, but now he just follow the BBC. Usually he read news from BBC websites.
The local student I interviewed is someone I don't know. He told me the leader of US is Barack Obama. And he barely read international news. He also reads news from website like BBC.

Communication Assignment #1
I did the interview with a friend Eric who's a first year phd student from IST. He' s very nice and kind person to help me with the assignment.
For the first question, i would say yes. Because we are new here. It's the first time we met my classmates during the oritation. And they are someone i didn't know. I just say hi to anyone i met or sitted next to me. And then started the conversation like introducing myself. Eric's answer is pretty much the same. For the second question, I won't shake hands unless someone extend his/her hands. Eric said he would shake hands when he introduce himself to another person. Maybe it's culture difference... He also said he don't use ''how do you do?''. It's kind of old-fasioned. hahahhh, i don't use it either, because i thought it should be used in business or other formal circumstances. About the question b, Eric said he will stand up if someone's friend is a professors or elders. Actually, i never thought of such a question...Yeah, i think standing up shows more respect for someone you meet. For the next question, normally i dont volunteerly talk to a stranger. If i need to, i will begin by saying hello, and introduce myself, like, where am i from, which program I am in, something like that. Eric said that i need to speak to strangers, and it helps me to improve my speaking.
